About Us – Diving Guru
Welcome to Diving Guru! My name is Claire, but you can also call me Penguin. I earned this nickname because of my love for water. But also due to my sometimes clumsy movements that lead to unique situations. As the co-founder of Diving Guru. I work alongside a dedicated team of passionate divers to create a platform specifically designed for people like me: divers who have a disability but are still eager to explore the underwater world.
The name Diving Guru was born out of our desire to create a platform where we can share our collective experiences and knowledge. Without claiming to be better than others. There are already countless diving websites offering great information, and our goal is not to surpass these sites but to be a valuable addition. What makes Diving Guru unique. However, is its focus on a small, often overlooked group within the diving community: people with disabilities who, like me, are eager to dive into the water.
When I started diving, I quickly realized that there was little to no information available for people like me. While you can always go to a local dive school for advice and guidance—and there’s nothing wrong with that—independence and togetherness are just as important to me. I wanted to experience the freedom of exploring on my own while also being part of a community that supports and inspires each other. This is where the idea for Diving Guru was born, and with the help of our amazing team, we’ve brought it to life.
With Diving Guru, our team aims to map out the dive sites in Zeeland, making these locations accessible to everyone, regardless of their physical abilities. The places we’ve personally explored will be described here with a personal and honest perspective. No technical logbooks, but real stories from the viewpoint of a sometimes stumbling, sometimes tumbling Penguin. These experiences can be valuable for others in similar situations who are looking for reliable and accessible information about dive locations.

Finding the right dive spots can be challenging. That’s why we want to share our experiences and insights to help others find their way in the underwater world. This is not just a place for practical tips but also for stories that show diving can be accessible to everyone, regardless of (physical) limitations.
The strength of Diving Guru lies in the community we build together. It is our hope that other divers with disabilities will join us and share their own experiences.
